To Mr. W. T. Toone - In reply to his letter of 12th March last applying for permission to proceed to Sea for one year with liberty to return to England on Furlough - States that Gentlemen of the Civil Service taking a Conditional Furlough shall be considered to vacate the situations they fill from the date of their leaving the Presidency he may proceed to the Cape or elsewhere by Sea within the prescribed limits, and if compelled to proceed to Europe can be admitted to Furlough by the Honble Court.
