Cosideration of the question of amending the Indian Merchant Shipping Act, VII of 1880, with a view to permit the despatch of distreassed native seamen to any port by rail when that mode of conveyance is more economical and covenient than by sea, deferred until the Government of India have an opportunity of placing the shipping legislation of India on a more satisfactory basis.
