Letter from the Governor of Bombay to the Governor General, intimating the despatch of the Hawke, with letters from England, reporting the arrival of the remainder of the 71st Regiment from Madras, enclosing a return of its strength as well as a general return of the troops upon the Bombay establishment, referring t the indignity shewn to the British naval flag by Ragoojee Angria and the Malayans, requesting permission to make reprisals on the offenders vessels whenever necessary, and reiterating the critical situation of his Government in the matter of funds for the payment of the army.
