In reply to no.498, dated 14th ultimo, disapproves of the investiture of Meerun Khan, Chief of the Dreeshuk tribe in the Dehra Ghazee Khan district, with revenue powers, and desires that, if such powers have been conferred by the Lieutenant -Governor, they may be withdrawn. States that orders regarding the proposed appointment of a moonshee on Rupees 25 per mensem, required by Meerun Khan in his capacity of Honorary Magistrate, will be passed in the Home Department.
