Investiture of Mr. G.O. Allen, an Assistant Magistrate in the United Provinces, with the powers of Magistrate of the first class with effect from the 17th August 1910, although at that time he had not exercised second class magisterial powers for the full period of six months and the grant to him of pay 500 of an Assistant Magistrate with effect from that date and the salary as an Officiating Magistrate and Collector from the following day. Delegation to local Governments of the power to depart in exceptional circumstances from the strict letter of the rule of June 1871. regarding the grant of higher magisterial powers, promotions and increases of pay to assistant magistrates.
